The word “Montepulciano” truly rolls off the tongue, a pleasure to both punch out each syllable and explore the spaces between at a leisurely pace. This wine is not dissimilar, “below red” with fruit that is both crisp and fresh like berries off the vine and rich and full like a slightly over-ripe plum that drips down your chin after the first bite. Often compared to a Jura red, who says that one cannot be two places at once, that matter can not be both a particle and a wave?

Imagine an alternate timeline in which Remus got the jump on Romulus and rather than a blood-soaked empire built on discipline and stoicism, Rome was an eternal party for the plebeians, a never ending Saturnalia where Bacchus, the pagan god of fermentation and fertility, insanity and ecstasy was never supplanted by the rigid monotony of monotheism. This imagined reality, a far more chaotic and beautiful universe is where Cantina Indigeno was born. Alfredo Giugno, Nicola Reginaldi, Fabio Petrella, and Loreto Lamolinara-four complete mad lads from Abruzzo - are 100% all in on making wine as freaky, natty and directly hostile to tradition as possible.

That means no sulfites, no gods, no masters.
