Josef Bauer and his wife Eva Maria are Familie Bauer, with 17 hectares of high-elevation vines that are certified organic, because they believe that cultivating the natural diversity of the landscape best expresses the terroir in their wines.  ‘Hollötrio’ is 100% Grüner that gets two degrees of skin contact and a long aging in stainless- serious work and quality for the price. Which is why this liter bottle offers up surprisingly sophisticated refreshment, with lively yellow apple and pineapple notes up front and zesty citrus, spice, orange peel, and white pepper on the finish The skin contact accentuates rather than overwhelms Grüner’s classic notes of white pepper and spice without adding funkiness or excessive tannic grip. Complex yet clean, this works for both crisp white wine lovers as well as orange wine fans looking for something on the lighter, less aggressive side.
